Stop Procrastinating


Avoiding Something?

What are you re-scheduling each week because you’re just NOT doing it?


Do you find yourself avoiding or skipping over the same thing every time you get to it on the calendar? Why do you think that is?

We set goals

We want to accomplish them

We know what we have to do

Yet, we don’t take action!


If you’re like me, you might:

Call yourself a procrastinator

Wait ‘til the last minute to get certain things done

Tell yourself you work great under pressure

Tell yourself something else is more important


In the end, you just don’t do it and there it is again on the calendar!

Let’s take a minute of awareness of what’s going on:

Here are a few things that are happening:

  • Dread - The discomfort of doing something new, boring or hard

  • Resistance - Telling yourself that you “have to” or “need to” do something

  • Avoid - Putting it off because “You’ll do it later”

When we set a goal (personal or business), many times it’s something new & requires more of us than what we’re comfortable with.

It’s easy to tell ourselves:

  • I don’t know!

  • I’ve never done this before!

  • What if I can’t do it?

  • I might fail!

The truth is we don’t “have” to do anything we “want” to do them!

Like:

  • Lose weight/ Exercise

  • Make more money

  • Start a business

  • Get more clients

  • Drink less

5 things to do right now to get things done! Set aside 1 hour before starting your week: I do this on Sunday:

1. Change I “have to” – to I “want to”

2. Commit to taking 10-15 min writing down everything you WANT to do

3. Decide the amount of time required for each thing and place it on your calendar

4. Focus during tasks that require it – turn off ALL notifications (phone & computer)

5. Be Accountable and trust yourself to get it done
